The story
The building
Our home is the old Barbara Jordan Post Office — a 1930s mail-sorting facility downtown that spent decades moving Houston's letters. In November 2021 it reopened as POST Houston: a market, food hall, and rooftop reimagining of the building. We kept the postal spirit and built a bar inside it.
The name
Named for the Elvis classic — a bar inside a former post office, where the postal world runs through everything. Even the second bar plays along: Address Unknown, the smaller room for beer and straight pours. Two bars, both signed from the same return address.
The group
Return to Sender is a FAM Hospitality Group project, founded by Paul Qui — Top Chef Season 9 winner and James Beard Best Chef: Southwest (2012). It's the group's craft cocktail bar inside POST Houston.
The program
The cocktail program comes from Jarmel Doss — an alum of The Aviary, the Alinea Group's bar, and the inaugural winner of Chicago's STARS Mixology Competition — alongside Dezmine Bell and Joyce O.
